Anamaria Marinca, born in Romania, is an actress. She was awarded the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. French, German English and Romanian are all spoken fluently. Her father is a theater professor for one of Romania's top drama schools. The Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. In addition to her outstanding performance in her debut movie she will also remember her performance on the Romanian movie "4 months 3 weeks 2 days" which earned her many awards including the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. Her role on Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film, 4 months 3 weeks and 2 days (4 months, 3 weeks and two days) was awarded the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two other awards, the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was another film in which she appeared. In 2008, she appeared as Yasim Angwar, the BBC Five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca is a regular on her own Romanian drama Boogie as well as Oliver Hirschbiegels Five Minutes of Heaven. She was Irma on Fury 2014, in which she portrayed the role of a German named aunt to Emma.
